I graduated from California State University Long Beach with a BFA in printmaking. When I first enrolled there I was in the illustration program but shortly thereafter I switched, first to art history and finally into the BFA printmaking program. I was invited to join the impacted program by the head of the department and was basically given a free pass (no portfolio reviews, no hoops to jump through), so I extended my stay and graduated in 2008.
Another one of the reasons I went with the printmaking degree was because the idea of being a well rounded artist appeals to me. I've always felt the best artist I had ever know or had heard of were always proficient in a variety of areas. Thus my exploration of other programs within the arts was a natural choice for me.
Comics, drawing and illustration were my first loves though. As such my ongoing efforts to find a way into the comics industry take me where ever they do.
